Cruised out to the west end for a couple of days of coho fishing...thankfully the weather report was for little to no wind, and relatively warm temperatures, because the rain forecast was thru the roof!

Not ones to be put off by a little rain, Addicted and I hit the launch at the crack of 11am, and shoved off.

In true rock star fashion I hooked two fish in my first two casts and put a total of "zero" in the box. Oh, well...there were a lot around, obviously, and I rarely get worked up about much when I'm out fishing, especially about losing a fish.

I won't bother with a long blow by blow account of the afternoon, other than to say this: it was the most pathetic display of poor hookup to landing ratios that Richard and I have ever put together!

That being said, we still ended up with a full box of fish, here are a few of the pics we were able to get during the few breaks in the downpour...

We started out the day twitching jigs but about halfway thru we were solidly on the Hootchie Whirlers, they accounted for about 75% of our bites.

A quick run into town, dry clothes, and meeting up with Bob for dinner...KK and Russell showed up, as well, and knocked down a few burritos and margaritas with us smile

Day 2 was a lineup change...Rico, KK, and Russell piled in Bob's boat for a float on the lower river, and I was joined by NickD90, who rolled into town around 11pm the night before, and we headed upstream to the upper float.

In the end Nick and I ended up with another full box of fish, but we only lost one...not sure what the big difference was on Day 2, but we were keeping them stuck a lot better.

Here are a few from Day 2...we got far less into the photos on Day 2 as it managed to rain 4.5" on us in six hours...to say it was wet would be a serious understatement. The river ended up rising NINE FEET that day...but it didn't stop us from filling up the boat with fish!

The pics of Nick with fish were not handoffs, nor was he holding up my fish...it is photographic proof that Nick can actually catch his own fish smile

We did about half and half on Day 2, jigs to spinners...as a matter of fact we each got two each on jigs, and two each on spinners.

Fun couple of days...I think I've finally dried myself and my gear out today, just in time to run out and do it again tomorrow, but at least the forecast is pretty nice for tomorrow!

Fish on...

Todd

While all the fair weather fisherman were inside complaining about the rain.

That sure was a wet weekend. My wife and I brought our 4 month son out fishing with us (poor guy haha). We had him in his stroller with two umbrellas over him. He didnt seem to mind though, and between my wife and I, we let more fish go than I could count before finally deciding it was time to keep that last fish to complete the limit to be done and get dry.

Teaching the little guy right from the start.
