Just wanted to grab some info since I have not fished one. I have a 16ft willie and a 13 ft superpuma but my normal fishing buddy has a bum shoulder this year. I wanted to pick up a small boat I could fish my self and fit in the back of a truck without having to trailer. I was wonder about which pontoon would meet those requirements and be safe for the duc/bogie.
I was looking at the badcat and the skookum 9 to 10ft. Anyone have any info or fish the single man of these. Looking for performance/handling/ease of getting in a truck bed. That type of thing. Any help would be great. Thanks

I had a classic accessories colorado xt. great little boat. broke down and set up easy. was fairly light and even had a transport wheel under it. as far as the Sol duc I dunno. that river can get hairy for seasoned rowers.

Let me know if you want to try any of the two boats below. I'll meet you on the river of your choice and you can try them out while maybe catching a fish or three.
The two boats below are both 9 foot in length, fit in the back of a pickup (tailgate down), can easily be handled by one person (60 and 45 pounds respectively), 5 year warranty on the boat, lifetime warranty on the frame (made locally in North Bend), and are pretty darn good boats, certainly comparable to the other brands mentioned.
Speaking of other boats and as bias-free as possible, Outcast makes a good product; their pontoons feature a bladder and outer zipper and not my preference but have been around for a long time, Badcat, Skookum and Catchercraft all use Maxxon pontoons, good for the money but not as good as Sotar. Catchercraft does offer boats made from Jack's Plastic Welding, a US-made pontoon with welded seams and more comparable with Sotar's quality. Skookum makes a galvanized frame though they don't have their original frame builder since moving its operation to Arizona. I know because he does Catchercraft frames now. Badcat makes some pretty trick aluminum frames using NRS products though I'm not sure if he does much in the smaller sizes (9 footers). Catchercraft offers both galvanized and aluminum frames.
