what is the best pound test to use when water is real low and real clear?

when its low clear conditions i like to use 8lb test maxima tournement silver. This is on a 81/2 ft rod.. Now i know guys who use 10ft rods use 6lb test.. Then again i fish with alot of old men who say that line size dosent matter if the fish are going to bite there going to bite.

Where do you get your Maxima Tournament Silver Line? I use to use it consistently until the store quit selling it. I have caught many fish with this line but I can not find it in Eastern Washington anymore. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
