I have 2 Stradic 3000's with no complaints. One has 20# power pro, the other has Sufix Elite 12# mono which I really like.

Trilene XL on all my spinning reels, Trilene XT on casting. Used it for 15 years. I've tried other stuff but haven't found a reason to switch.

Take a look @ the Daiwa Lexa, nice reel.

8 lb Ultragreen for me in mono, 30 P-Pro/8 for float fishing.

Stradic CI4 2500 and 3000......use Power Pro Hi Vis on both reels, 30# on the 2500 and 40# on the 3000.

During freezing weather.....braid is left at home. Then I use Stradic 2500 and 3000, with Ultra Green.

There seems to be a consensus.... wink

Have played with both the Lexa & Stradic. Shimano seems to have better bearings but the Lexa is no slouch. Have assortments of PP braid and P-Line mono on various baitflingers. Thinking of using the spinning setup for lighter offerings like jigs either with or without a dainty float.

This is going on at least one of my spinning rigs for this coming season. If it works as well as I have heard, it might just be fun to use. Less tip wrapping is something I have heard, no first hand experience yet.....

PowerPro Super Slick Braided Line

Power Pro Super Slick Braided Line, constructed with 8 yarn Spectra fiber braided under high tension, has a ''smooth as silk'' surface. The smooth surface means reduced line friction on the spool and through the rod guides, which allows PowerPro Super Slick to cast like a bullet. An additional benefit of the Super Slick smooth surface and reduced friction is reduced line noise, allowing you to fish with stealth and silence.
Super-Slick is 8 yarn Spectra fiber construction for anglers who demand high performance.
PowerPro ''EBT'' (Enhanced Body Technology) process creates a stronger, thinner, smoother and quieter line.
Available in 8 sizes (10, 15, 20, 30, 40, 50, 65, 80lb) and 4 colors (Hi-Vis Yellow, Marine Blue, Timber Brown, Aqua Green.

Still have a few Quicks and 300's but, sadly, no Cardinals. May just clean up and respool the old Quick and mount it on the vintage Fenwick for the full retro effect.

I'm surprised so few have mentioned P Line CX. It doesn't last forever, but it's well worth it in my experience if you change it out each year.

It is very soft, low memory, ties good knots, with a small diameter to good strength when compared with many monos like UG.

If you like mono mainline, P Line CX 15# with 10# Ultragreen leaders has been a great combo for me for larger steelhead.

And I can't stress more, CXX is not useful to river fishing with lighter tackle. It will probably dissapoint. P Line CX is perfect and is an entirely different experience.
