Hey Reel Truth, how about a post operative update. Is everything going well for you now? I hope so. We are really close to closing the deal on some business in Clackamus that just might force me to head out your direction. Any ideas on when it would be a "good time" to call on this customer, and mix in a little bit of pleasure with business?

Hey Bob, are you getting scorched on the 20 hour days yet? Looks like I may be heading out to chase dawgs with Robbo for a few days when they show up in his area. Do you have any openings in that time frame, so I can try and book a trip with you while I'm out there. There would be another guy with me.

So this lady goes in to Walmart to buy a fishing rod, and notices an associate standing by the counter in dark sunglasses. Needing a little help, she asks him if he could help her out with the purchase of a fishing rod. He explains to her that he is blind, and can't see the rod, but if she would kindly place it on the counter, he may be of some assistance.

She places the rod on the counter, and he immediately replies " that is our 6 foot premium graphite rod, equipped with a Zebco 202, and ten pound stren line". A great starter rod, all for the low price of $20. The lady says "I'll buy it", and the associate works his way around the corner to ring up the purchase. Seeing this as an opportune moment, the lady "breaks wind" as the associate surely will not see her red face after the gas has been released. The associate rings up the purchase, and replies "That will be $25.50

The lady responds, " I thought the rod was $20". The associate replies "That's correct maam, $20 for the rod, $3 for the duck call, and $2.50 for the catfish bait".

Hve a good summer

Howdy Hawk. I'm doing great! The prostrate surgery got everything out. Tissue samples and a 6 week followup PSA test revealed nothing there. And back to rowing again (in addition to my jetsled). Yahoo! Of course these things always have a chance of reappearing but in my case not much more than anyone else that's never had it. Now, if I could hurry up the recovery curve on the "dribble" thing the faster I can get out of these dang mini-Depends! - Fishing has been better for salmon & steelhead all over the N.W. this year aparently due to the La Nina (opposite of El Nino) effect on better ocean feed availability. The Clack. has been one disappointing exception, but anytime you come out here there are going to be nearby good fishing prospects, including the big Columbia. Let me know when you are in P-Town and I'd love to take you out fishing (you'll only need a license, I have all you'll need). - Steve

Hey Hawk ... those 20+ hour days got me early on this year with the added mess of the Kenai closure ... gotta a little break right now as the "ditch" is in it's inbetween run time - although more fun here as the late-run fish aren't coming in the numbers they should be for this time Perhaps they're just a few days late. Power shifts start up heavy next week again for one big last push, then August is a little easier (I Hope ).

I generally only book salmon through the 15th of November, so I should be able to fit you in in the latter end of the month for some steelies (or silvers too, but most are past what I call prime table fare at that point, but are plenty fun to catch) if you make some plans in the not too distant future.

Are you still going to come out next spring?? If so, I've left the single seat with Kent open in early March (the remainder of the month is toatlly full) ... and the Feb and April dates are getting pretty full too, so we should try to firm something up if you're still thinking about heading out this way.

A dog trip??? Yuk Glad we don't see them on our coastal rivers!! Just kidding, they're certainly great fighters (and biters), just not terribly good table fare nor grip 'n grin models. You'll have fun!
