I live in S.E. Minnesota, and used to live on the North Shore of Lake Superior. Haven't had the chance to fish the Salmon, Genesee, or Oak Orchard yet, but plan on it in the fall of 2001. Just got hooked on the float thing a couple of years ago. Prior to that, I was a chuck n duck drift fisherman for about 20 years. You'll find the guys on this baord are a lot of help. I have found several of the "west coast" techniques, to work well on our fish. Actually had a chance to go out to Washington and meet a couple of the guys. Will be heading out there this Fall to fish for chum slamon (something else we don't have). E-mail me sometime, and we can shoot the breeze on floats. I have a lot to learn on fine tuning my presentation. Just ordered a couple dozen floats from Rodworks.com. You should check out their site. I thought the prices were very reasonable. Doesn't it drive you nuts knowing that these guys can fish for steelheads in the summer? The only fish in our rivers right now, are carp, suckers, and smallmouth bass. Hope we have a rainy, cool fall, to bring those fish in before I go ape. Would be interested if you get floats to work for chinooks. Take care, and don't go bananas waiting for the Labor Day run of fish.
