I'm in the market for value-for-money (not going to be used that heavily) felt-soled wading boots. I'm particularly interested in brands I can buy either mail order or the Internet as it's a long way to Ted's from where I usually park my car.

I've owned a pair of Hodgman "Lakestream" wading boots and my wife has a pair of the "Bantam Weights". I use mine up to 40 times a year and she gets out about 15 times a year. These boots fit well and have held up very well. The last pair I had I got from Cacela's and they only lasted 1&1/2 years. I'm on the forth year with the hodgeman's and are only now looking like they will have to have new soles put on then this winter. Look at Fred Meyers or Sportco. Prices run from around $40-$55 or so. As a side I primarily fish out of a drift boat about half of the time.

I recommend Cabela's.....highly....Have dealt with them for 30+ yrs...Have a pair of 5MM Hip boots, $89.95, that are over 4 years old(I date everything I buy). Retired so I fish LOT's, bank, jet, and drift boat. The soles are wearing thin, but I love them for all around weather use......keeps you very warm in the winter time and not too bad now!!
