Three out of four of this clan got lucky and drew "spring" bear tags here local, and number two daughter pulled one for Copalis.

Rummaging around for the bear calls and face paint this am, then we're heading out for a little bear scouting tonite.

No luck with the multi dear or elk this season tho.

Good Luck to Ya-All and be safe. smile

The .458 can be made available. I have a few depredation bears to whack but if you would like to give it a go just let me know.

DF,

Thanx for the .458 offer !

I think we finally have the Gats ready for this season's bear chasing with a couple of new bear guns built around the .450 BM, and one shooting a little .308.

We got lucky this year with three of the kids getting local spring bear tags, and my grand daughter pulled one for the Copalis bear hunt of all choices! This year's bear hunting will be totally different for us then it was last year with a big up tick in spring scouting trips both here local and a few trips needed out to beach with the grand daughter's tag area.

More fuel to expend with this year's efforts, but those costs may possibly be offset by the huge cost savings spent on the ole vanilla extracts! wink

Good Luck with your bear hunts and take care.

I'll be bringing out my new .308 for this year's bear hunts, so you guys should be fine using that and the .450 BM.

Fudd-ish. Savage 10T. Vortex Viper PST MRAD 6-24x50.

Does pretty well at 575 yards though.

Very nice, and none too Fudd-ish!

575 yards, +1 for sure. That should make for a very fine rifle, and sort of similar to my latest leaning. After building a few of the -15s, I thought I would run down the AR-10 path and build a lite .308 for this season's bear chasing but plans changed.

After playing with a friend's .308 built as a patrol type rifle, I fell over, hit my head, and needed to go down another path. So, right now I'm wrapping up the build of a .308 based on one of the little Ruger American compact rifles. However, after your posting of the 6x24 Vortex, and the 575 yard target results, I'm now changing out the glass selected and opting for a little longer reaching eyes. I have a little 1.75 x 5 Vortex that was ready to go it tonite, but I'm now leaning toward a bit more glass for this gat, and contemplating a switch to a 3x9 Trijicon for some longer range pokes!

Dang ya DF ! wink

Thx for the picts.

Hmmmm,

She puts in for a tag here -
Draws a tag here -

and won't hunt here -

Seems like a little waste of time, money, removes a tag from others in a lottery, then what burns the tag?
