I used to use the uni knot for mono to braid until I discovered the "FG" knot……lower profile, stronger than the uni knot and no glue required.

Check it out on Youtube.

Glue shouldn't be needed on a double uni - that's a wee bit anal imo. Hint, double both of the main loops - no glue needed. If you just have to glue, zap-a-gap thin grade (flyshop). URW.

I've never glued that knot. Works fine without in my experience, but I mostly go power pro to maxima UG.

If you need glue for a fishing knot, you're not tying it right. Seems to me, from a chemistry standpoint, the glue might even weaken the knot, depending on the materials.

If you need to use glue, something like Loon Knot Sense would be what I'd recommend.
I don't use it to glue knots, but I will use it to smooth knots out so they go through the guides easier when stripping in longer leaders.
Worked great this weekend on a perfection loop and a 10' leader.

My understanding is that the glue keeps braid from fraying at the knot, never had that issue so never used it. I also use the power pro to maxima ug. Bob R

I've fished Power Pro for a loooooong time, always use a size #14 crane swivel, when I'm rigging for summer steelhead. Never a problem with fraying..

The above knot isn't in the following wed site:

I use the improved cinch knot for everything.......works for me!!!!
