greetings once more,

does anyone know where i can find an outboard motor dolly like this one:

http://www.nauticexpo.com/prod/brunco/outboard-motor-trolleys-37258-284092.html

i'm getting a honda 9.9 outboard and want to stow it in the back of my pickup for fishing trips. i'm older and this little dolly looks perfect for taking the motor off and on the skiff and stowing it without breaking my back...

thanks for info and suggestions especially if anybody has come across this item before.

That is a very clever solution to your problem. It would be easy to build the device with a mandrel bender and a mig welder.

You might be able to adapt a hand truck to hold the motor

thanks... yes i looks like my best option would be a four wheeled dolly from lowes or some such... i just don't understand why the aussies and europeans have such elegant solutions and we don't have them here...

for example have a look...

I will look in my shed and get back to you tomorrow. I may have an extra. my Dad would buy a dolly and weld on a plate. or just whip one up from scratch every time he had a new motor to put on one. I think I have one that is empty, but I am not sure. but be fore warned he didn't deal with aluminum it will be steel and it will have surface rust because he didn't ever paint them.

I made one out of a regular Harbor Freight 2 wheeled dolly and a couple of 2x4's a number of years ago when I needed one. As I recall I just attached the 2x4's, one across towards the top and the other on the end of the blade so it's wouldn't tip over. Worked great.

There's a bunch on eBay and other places. Search for "outboard motor stand"
