Federal prosecutors indicted former U.S. House Speaker Dennis Hastert Thursday on charges he allegedly hid payments he made to an apparent blackmailer in order to compensate for and conceal “prior misconduct.”

The 73-year-old Illinois Republican is accused of structuring the withdrawal of $925,000 in cash in order to evade the requirement that banks report cash transactions over $10,000. He is also accused of lying to the FBI about the withdrawals.

Funny thing is I help clients get large amounts of cash on a regular basis. Just order, withdraw, and complete a CTR. Had he done that, he would have been fine. If a client tries to structure withdrawals we are required to report it.

Um......quick memo to the masses. The U.S. government is corrupt. But, unlike FIFA, the U.S. government has legalized corruption.

They should have just created a corporation and been perfectly legal!

Hastert taught Larry Craig the wide stance move during their House versus Senate wrestling matches.

Sad to read it was a boy who was under that creep's mentorship.

Hope that big $$ somehow got funneled back to the abused boy, but probably doubtful. Most likely someone else in the know was profiting from the abuse?

Will be interesting to see who the person taking the money is, and also would be good to see them punished severely.
