this board is actually an excellent source of info. You just have to ignore the occasional ignorant post. It has been especially bad the last couple of days

Steelhead adict it is people like you I appreciate. I live near he great lakes and fish them I just wanted to see what type of techniques you guys on the N.W. coast but I am seing very bad thinks on this bulletin board. I once read an article on fishing for king salmon on the kenai river in the cleveland plain dealer, and the author talked about how he has seen guys cut other lines when tangeled, is it really that much of a warzone out there. I am not really leaving just mad. Steelhead actict my favorite sport fish is also the steelhead.

I too don't think that you should leave. As one of the folks here that avidly participates in discussions of sideline topics I can understand your reluctance to wade through the politics to get to the fish. I would suggest that with the recent rise in indian nation rights and such, the politics of our region may be of particular interest across the nation. We have a long history of dealing with nations on fishing rights (and hunting) and perhaps you could gain insight from our foibles and successes. I for one like to hear from all sides on all issues and encourage you to stick around and interject.

Hang in there Chief. It will go away soon. I have learned a lot on here, and have been able to fish with a few of the guys. I hooked up with a guy from www.rodworks.com
and he has some great floats for our type of fishing.

Like I said, be patient, it will get better, and you'll get a chance to meet some great guys, who can catch some fish. Tight lines

I have also read about the warzones of the Kenai.
I would assume just like everywhere, if you go where there are lots of people and lots of fish, you will be shoulder to shoulder.

I had read in a past issue of salmon Trout Steelheader about some steely waters of New York, ( i think). They seemd more like the waters of the Pac NW ( ability to use drift gear)
My dad is from Mansfield OH orginally, I have been up there many times.
If you ever get some time, hire a guide out here on the Olympic Pennin. ( i.e. BOB) The fishing is unbelievable!!! Remember release the natives!

I stopped visiting and posting on another bulletin board because of the same thing. It seems to go in cycles. I found the best thing is to ignore the guys who are just looking to stir the pot. They are either really bored with life, or dont actually catch any fish and are pissed off about it. I just started frequenting this board a couple of weeks ago, and have read some really informative posts, dont give up on it yet.

Hang in there Jim123430.There is alot of good information on this BB. We all are very passionate about our fishing and sometimes the barbs seem to get out of hand, but I would like to think that we would all help each other out on the river.lester

I also recommend that you stay posted to this board, like they have said, it will get better once Bob has some time to tidy things up. Its kind of like the guys on the CB radios that just get on there and bother everyone. If you let them yank your chain, they will continue, but if you ignore them, they will either leave or change to a different channel.

Fishing has been good here in Washington and hope its good for you too. Talk to you guys later.....Steve.
