Marty ... the heavier leaders give me some better durability. As you know kings have some nasty teeth and this pretty much limits our break-off to just a fish or two over the course of the season here. While I don't ru that heavy of drag setting in the first-run kings, I do in July as holding your ground in a ripping current is critical to our success ... and I've popped a lot of fish off on 40 lb. leaders in the past. The clear vs. chameleon isn't a pref thing on this, just what I can get locally ... I could run 1/2 inch cable for leaders and the fish would never know the difference in the super dirty water that I fish up north.

Thanks for the insight. I just watched your boat ramp video and had to chuckle. We have to do that on the lower Elwha...Just not as far.
