This one is apparently just a mash up carbine. Has a Olympic Arms mod PCR lower marked cal multi 2004.

Up top what appears to be a "Model 1 sales" stainless 16" barrel with a flash suppressor installed. Lady on their customer service line said it is a 5.56mm caliber unless otherwise maked, also stated likely 1 in 9" twist. Basic battle sights w/ the old school fixed carry handle.

Just a basic blaster, I guess.

Two examples loaned to me by a buddy. Just checking out the AR platform, very little experience with it to this point.

Here's a cool rig for sale on the other forum.
Great price.

Other than the caliber and buttstock, do you see any other differences with the carbine in the OP ?

It hasn't sold because the tire kickers don't know what a .300 Blackout is.

The majority suggests that platform is inherently evil and a simple pump shotgun is all you need.

Just starting my first AR 10 build. Mostly Aero Precision parts.

20 inch 308 nothing special. I will build another upper probably a 22 inch 6.5 Creedmore.

Nice adult Legos DF. Those will snap together just fine.

I've got about the same group of parts except barrel and handguard.
The Aero large frame receivers are the bee's knees.

The persnickety parts are:
receiver pins (KNS or Aero seem to work best)

mag latch (I used Armalite latch and solid aftermarket button)
The Aero is a little wider than the norm and the small frame
stuff gets sucked in too far.

bolt catch (Armalite AR10A)

For the barrel I will probably use Black Hole Weaponry
and purchase through their neighbor, Tactical Solutions for a little better price.
6.5 Creedmoor is the boolit I've been eyeballin'

There is an Aero large frame build thread on AR15.com that may help avoid any pitfalls.

I bought the builder's kit which came with all of the proprietary parts, matched upper and lower billet receivers, and a key mod hand guard. Rock River Arms NM lower parts kit. Bolt and Barrel should be here this Friday or next Monday. Borrowing a buddy's go/no-go gauges.

I have a carbine class on 1/9/16 so it will be a good time get the bugs worked out. Just a Bushnell TRS-25 to start, but I'll get some decent glass and a BUIS on it as time goes on.

Easy platform to work with. Very easy to upgrade parts and to make a ho-hum out of the box rifle into a dependable intermediate (300) to long range (600) rifle.

Shooting class. Hopefully I'll have a good to go from the doc by then, to shoot, or I may just have to play RSO and help others. Broken thumbs suck ass.

While the Grendel can push a 6.5 bullet out of the barrel, the Creedmore is a better 1,000 yard round, especially with the 142gr high BC boolits. That is where I am headed with that upper project.

Just my local "militia" group holding an annual training. Any training is good training.
