What do you guys think? I see the benefits of using high Vis braid for anchoring, trolling or back trolling... For those of you that use it or have does it seem to help or hinder your catching production?

Was looking at power pro pro 65lb yellow

I use power pro 10 lb yellow for free drifting and 15 lb for everything else.

Tie it right to jigs and spinners for coho. They don't care.

Everything else ultra green or fluorocarbon leader is your friend.

I use it as a main line, never right up to my terminal. Always have 2-4' of ultragreen or flouocarbon if it real clear.

That make me a scared of just smart, your call.

long time user of Hi-Vis lines. I used the Ande Hi-Vis mono bright green, until my switch to different brands of braid Hi-Vis lines, now stay with Power Pro.

People laughed at me fishing the "Hi-Vis" for summer run, many of the laugh'er now use Hi-Vis.

I don't use any Hi-Vis but 40# or 50#, the switch to these weigths cut down the "wrap around the tip".

Twitching, Power Pro right to the duo-lock. Run 2-3" of leader on everything else.

40# and 50# pound, casts VERY WELL.

So trolling herring or anchoring w kwiks, are you running the hi Vis right to the main swivel? Or are you adding a 10' mono bumper?

I cannot believe there are fisherman that aren't running braid.

Even the bug chuckers do it but they wrap theirs.

Anyone who thinks high vis lines can prevent fish from biting is right. It definitely can but most of the time it won't matter.

To say fish are scared of high vis is flat wrong. But it may make them not accept your offering based on how unusual it is.

Results are species, pressure, dependent as well as a host of other factors.

Also if you go with braid I would say no to 65#. That could be tough to break off. I like 40#. It is very strong compared to leaders and can be broken if need be without too much effort.

At pre-spawning time salmon doesn't care about color or thickness of line.
It is super aggressive and attacking any moving subject. I've got 24lb salmon on 14lb electric-green Solar HiVis line. May be even HiVis line drive him to bigger aggression.

I like high-vis braid on my float rods. It helps you track your line and keep it mended a little better.

It's also good if you're fishing from a boat because the boat operator can see where your fish is, and where it's going.

I'll never run hi-vis to a terminal offering. My theory is that the lure should entice a fish to strike, not a potential combination of the line and lure. YMMV.

There have been too many days where I was combat fishing a hatchery hole and switched to a very (too fine usually) leader to see what happens and hooked up first cast. This leads me to believe that line vis can matter.

Some say it is the lighter line that improves action on the offering but in a lot of cases the switch from mono to fcarbon has resulted in the same quick hookup and it was the same diameter.

I usually don't care about line sizes or color but sometimes I do. And switching lines is usually a sign the fishing is slow for everybody.
