Myself and my buddy have been up on the lewis the last couple of weeks and the silvers are thick near the hatchery hole, we've been hooking 5-20 a day all on eggs all in the mouth drift fishing. Anyone else been up there watching all the snaggers, last night the gamewarden came up and cleaned the rock off in the hatchery hole but as soon as he left the corky boys were back what can be done to stop this so I can hook more fish legally in the mouth?

Stlhdr1 - I fished the NF Lewis last Sunday morning for three hours but couldn't move a fish. None. I used everything, including drifting eggs. I was fishing just downstream of the corkie snaggers at the hatchery hole point. It looked like the folks on the hatchery side were doing better. Nobody on my side hooked anything except the snaggers. Next time I'll try the hatchery side but, as you know, it gets real crowded. Thanks for the tip.

Let's hope the wardens keep the snaggers away. They can start by writing some tickets....

Were you fishing by a salmon hatchery? Could I have directions?

i have been fishing the south side above the boat ramps. I caught only a jack while the person on the other side ( at the "dangerous cliff" caught silvers all morning. Wish I had a boat!
he fish seem to be biting on the north side

The best spot I have found to fish the silvers at 1500 cfs is on the south side of the river above all the snaggers on the snaggers rock. I've been fishing the long piece of water that comes into the hatchery hole, its some fast water and the best way to fish it is to use a 1 oz. lead, stationary on a snapswivel with a 3-4ft leader (no larger than 10lb.) Your fishing the real fast water 20 yards below the cedar that's hanging into the river, you'll know it when you see it. I've been fishing fresh silver eggs cured in pro-glow with some of my secret bite enhancer... Have fun guys and hope to see you there.
STURZA- I don't know where you are coming from but take the woodland exit off of I-5 take the very 1st right next to the am-pm and you'll cross a bridge follow the river up and take no turns off of it until you get to etna rd to the left follow that down to the river and that will take you to cedar creek. cross the cedar creek bridge park in the parking lot on the left, walk a 100 yards upriver ant that is where I am catching all the fish.
