does anyone fly/speycast-roll cast from Jetties ?

for salmon?

with too many rocks and onlookers, was curious if anyone has done this successfully?

I know the spots, just seeing if others have done this

thanks !

Guess that is why I haven't seen anyone on the jetties doing it.

Might be a fun puzzle to work on

I think a switch rod and an overhead cast would be a better fit for jetty fishing. I have a CND 9/10 wt rod that was designed for that application on the east coast.

If you can Spey cast in typical coastal winds with giant rocks all around you, you deserve to catch frigging Moby Dick. But you probably won't.

Switch would be better; Ugly Stick better still.

If you've got the patience and the will power, I've read salmon can be caught off jetties on flies. I have neither, as you can tell.

I should have said my experience is trout on streams and loooong ago..an 8 weight at night off jetties for rockfish.

I have ben on a jetty where salmon were being caught readily by lure fisherman and thought a fly would worth a try, but backcasting is next to zero..plus people are common behind.

A switch it is ! I confused spey as a legitimate tool on jetty

thanks all for the input!
