I just got back from one of the most memorable fishing trips I have ever experienced. Fished out of Craig, AK with Captains Rob, Troy, and Howie of Prince of Wales Sportfishing for a few days last week, and these guys put us on to fish that had been elusive due to the weather up there prior to our arrival. We brought the good weather with us!
I won't go into the fishing details, you all know Rob runs a world-class charter and hospitality business up there, hands down. ‘Nuf said. I had heard how intense the fishing is in SE AK, and I was awful thankful we had soldiers aboard during the combat fishing episodes we endured up there
However, my motivation for this post is not to try to compete with Vedder

Bucket invited myself and another friend to join him and 3 other men from our zone of influence and we all headed to Craig for a Salmon for Soldiers event that Rob and Jim Bucket Heins and Sarge Brad Watts sponsored. We got to fish with 6 of the most wonderful and outstanding Veterans and got the opportunity to listen to their stories. It was so fun to hang out with these fine men and to try to understand what they went through and are continuing to go through fighting for our freedom. My takeaway is that this organization will be receiving my financial support in the future, and I encourage everyone to do the same. Some of these guys had never even been fishing, and this opportunity gave them the chance to relax and blow off some steam........well-earned without a doubt. Check out their grins if you need proof
This soldier had a custom-fitted rod holder to keep him in the game all day!
It was highly effective
I overheard every single individual say that they didn't want to go home, that Las Craigas was heaven on earth. After hanging out with these fellas I felt the exact same sentiments.
