so the other half & I are getting married in November 5th and are thinking bout doing the honeymoon on the methow for a couple days. I've never fished it and would like to know how well it usually fishes that time of year. any help would be appreciated, thanks

It usually fishes pretty well that time of year. This year, it sounds like it won't even open though.

More than likely, no steelhead season on the methow. There are several lakes in the upper end of the valley that open in the fall and are prized by the bug chuckers. Patterson usually opens up for an all out perch fishery too, so look for that. There might be a whitefish season on the methow, but it usually gets shut down to reduce impacts on steelhead. Rufus Woods?

My advice? Unless it's your wife's idea, don't fish on your honeymoon.

She's OK with a bit of fishing on the honeymoon. Since the kiddo came 2 years ago, she hasn't been out much and she misses spending time together on the river.

If the methow might be closed, I sure we can make the peninsula a back up plan. Mainly was looking for fairly easy water for her and someplace new to experience. We've fished most of the i-5 corridor and quite a bit up around the forks/pa area.

Like said above. Unlikely to open with the dismal return numbers this year. Whole upper Columbia system is down significantly. Snake just as bad.
