The humidity at daybreak was heavy with moisture, laying a thick dew on the streamside knotweed....

As a courtesy to birthday boy, CanyonMan and fish4brains were content to make poor casts with baitless hooks before they had enough light to even see their boobers bobbing down the river. Since I was the only one of our trio not too proud to wear full time glasses, I had the upper hand in the pre-dawn twilight.... and was rewarded with the first BOBBER DOWN to connect!
YEE HAW! The first SFB comes to hand before sunrise, and its MINE MINE MINE!

Doesn't take my determined compadres long to get on the board as well.
CM releases a chunky little brown hen for the gravel...

We proceeded to fill the box with river-bright testosterone-laden groceries, selectively setting all the girls and darkies free. The Golden Child found this beautiful wild summer-run buck amongst the brown bruisers.
After sore-mouthing every willing biter in that glory hole, we pushed on downriver for a change of scenery... and oh, was it ever scenic!
Didn't take long for the fishin to fizzle for the fishNphysician and friends. Other than the occasional pseudo-bobble, the egg program was pretty much GAME OVER.
Change of plan...
f4b switches to one of Twitch's beautifully tied twitchNjigs.... and VOILA! He hooks the brightest buck in the WHOLE river. Now ain't that a beauty!
