Hey gang. The clear coat on my Willie drift boat has pretty much flaked completely away. I'm looking to sand down the interior and reshoot the zolotone. Never did it before. Curious to know if anyone here could give me some pointers. Or anyone that has done this before that might want to do mine for some cash $. I did a quick google search and I'm having a hard time finding places that paint zolotone locally (Tacoma).

Give Stam a call, spend as much time on the phone with him as possible, he really likes ta BS on the phone. Keep the conversation going as long as ya can- it'll impress him. Hey Bucket if I'm not that great at long drawn out useless babble should I have my X call and pound on his eardrums for a couple of hours. What about rhino lining it? It will make it more quiet and a tad warmer on chilly days.

PS. The only thing missing in this thread is Sol talking about Stam and zolotone huffing. I miss that crazy SOB.

I did a restore job on the Bailey Too that included an interior repaint.

Instead of Zolotone, I had a guy use a "Rhino" type paint. It turned out WONDERFUL........ Tough as hell and looks great. People don't believe my boat is a 1999.

The guy is a douche bag lying SOB so I can't recommend him. I was getting calls from other customers that wanted to include me in a class action law suit.

I'll check my old emails and see if I can find the name of the PAINT used. Finding someone that uses it might be the challenge.

I don't get the zolotone thing. What good is it? It always wears off, then the just plain aluminum seems to work ok.
