Hey gang. The clear coat on my Willie drift boat has pretty much flaked completely away. I'm looking to sand down the interior and reshoot the zolotone. Never did it before. Curious to know if anyone here could give me some pointers. Or anyone that has done this before that might want to do mine for some cash $. I did a quick google search and I'm having a hard time finding places that paint zolotone locally (Tacoma).

If Stam is out berry picking or officiating a wedding, call 3 Rivers Marine. I spoke to our contact and plan on having him to my Willie next summer.

Thanks for the info. I've been wanting to repaint the boat for the last year. A couple times I've almost talked myself into staring it myself and then talk to someone that says it's a pain in the A**.

Give Stam a call, spend as much time on the phone with him as possible, he really likes ta BS on the phone. Keep the conversation going as long as ya can- it'll impress him. Then take a trip down there and check out his shop, get the tour etc, hell he might even buy ya lunch at the local watering hole!!

Hey Bucket if I'm not that great at long drawn out useless babble should I have my X call and pound on his eardrums for a couple of hours. I bet she would make the phone side of his head numb to help move my boat up the list for a fresh make over. Go ahead and post his number so I can get the ball rolling on this...

Give Willie boats a call they'll give you advice or a lead of someone in your area. They are very helpful. Good luck.

What about rhino lining it? It will make it more quiet and a tad warmer on chilly days.

If Stam choose to build cabinets I would buy them from him. Even better I would pay him.

He would have to be able to read a tape measure. Nice reach around though.

Stam don't officiate no weddings. The Rev. Dr. Parker does.

Holler my way when you're getting hitched.

I've officiated 4 weddings. Believe I need to do two more to become an Ace.

PS. The only thing missing in this thread is Sol talking about Stam and zolotone huffing. I miss that crazy SOB.

I did a restore job on the Bailey Too that included an interior repaint.

Instead of Zolotone, I had a guy use a "Rhino" type paint. It turned out WONDERFUL........ Tough as hell and looks great. People don't believe my boat is a 1999.

The guy is a douche bag lying SOB so I can't recommend him. I was getting calls from other customers that wanted to include me in a class action law suit.

I'll check my old emails and see if I can find the name of the PAINT used. Finding someone that uses it might be the challenge.

I don't get the zolotone thing. What good is it? It always wears off, then the just plain aluminum seems to work ok.
