Go Seahawks !!!!!!
No wait, afternoon tide and a minus tide.....you go for the clams, I'll watch the Hawks !!!!!
Drive safe on the way home !!!!! I had enough of the I-5 traffic from Olympia to Lake Stevens and then on the way home, Thanksgiving Day.....glad I live in the 98520 zip code area.....

Dug 5 limits of clams, mixed size, in an hour or two yesterday. We started early and got small ones early. The nicer ones were everywhere, showing in patches of 3-10, just as we were wrapping up right at low tide.

Anyone have any success yesterday? I'm not familiar with the Twin Harbors beaches, so I don't know the "hot spots," but the beach I went to yesterday (just north of Grayland, I believe) was completely dead yesterday. Didn't see ONE clam dug up (or even showing, for that matter) during the prime tide stages. Heard last dig was a bust at Twin Harbors, too, but haven't heard many reports from hardcore clammers....
I'm used to getting skunked on the rivers, but yesterday was the first time I've been completely shut out clamming. Is that a normal thing? Was I just on the wrong beach? Is it worth trying something different today? Tough digging last night for my crew... 2 shy of a limit of mostly dinks for me... 4 or 5 for Achewter... 7 or 8 for our friend Bud. Got only ONE bonafide jumbo between the three of us. If you weren't pounding, you were going home empty handed or dam close. Every clam was forced to show, and I got 2/3 of mine in 6-12 inches of water during the calm between draws, the rest chasing the draw down to the surfline. Quit when we ran out of daylight (no lanterns to tempt us to stay any longer) as that would be our self-imposed curfew to get back to Bud's smoked brisket waiting in the Traeger.

well, well, well.........Now I wish I'd would have gone to the beach....the Seahawk game was absolutely the worse. I haven't dug clams in 40+ years but I know I could do better at clam digging... than the Seahawk offensive line did, either in opening holes for the running backs OR in the protection of Russell Wilson.....I'd of made that offensive line watch the game tapes, all the way home !!!!!!!

Same results for me Saturday 12 maybe 3 jumbo size. Lots of empty bags strolling up the beach around dark. Most on the spit I was on had 2 or 3 only. Like eye guy said probably 3 or 4 came from under 6 inches of water. .5 foot holdup and fairly angry sea most likely the culprit. I had one lull when I was out a bit and managed to get 3 quickly. Never could get out to that patch of sand again.

Is it worth trying something different today? My 2nd time out ever & same results for me in the same general area. The wind seemed to make it darn near impossible to find any sign of clams. Tried smacking the ground too with no luck. At least the dog had a good time on the beach.

Evidently the area we dug in was the hot spot.
