During my resent Elk hunting trip,we discovered an interesting thing concerning our coolers ,there was 8 coolers in camp half were Igloo and half were coleman, after a week of hunting we discovered that the Igloo coolers had over 3 times the ice left in them, some where opened more than others i.e. beverage coolers but that didn't seem to matter.anyone have simular results, which one do you use.....keep cool Osprey

If you really want your stuff to last a long time, put about 2 inches of news paper on the top of the ice. On cold nites, the ice will actually re-freeze. When we go up in the BWCA, we'll get an extra 3 dyas out of ice that we used the newspaper on. Make sure to pack out the paper when your done. Makes for OK back up butt wipe in a bad pinch.

I use the iglo's,in the 128 and 120 marine style. After a weekend fishin in the summer or winter I will still have ice left over in the cooler for two to five day's depending on the temp out side.My vote is for iglo.Good luck, STRIKE ZONE

When we run the Rogue canyon we freeze our own ice in 1 gallon milk or OJ containers. The ice seems to last longer than the store bought block stuff and you can drink the ice cold water as it thaws.
