Went out to Forks for three days and had a fun time fishing with an old friend from school. Despite the shot of water and promising reports from the week before, fishing was slow. We hooked three fish in three very long days fishing hard. One was on the Duc where I could see my bright orange yarny drifting along the bottom around a boulder and a white ghost appeared as if out of nowhere to intercept it. Float went down and I set the hook and felt.....nothing. I think this happens more than we know. Our other hookups were on the Calawah mostly fishing the spots everyone knows with float and jigs.

After several days of patching my waders before the trip, moisture levels were low. My new jacket (Simms Bulkley) kept me warm and dry but it wasn't very cold or wet out there so I still haven't really tested it.

I would say that it was a slow weekend out there based on my experiences and talking to others.

Glad you got out and thanks for the report.

Perhaps a moist wader radio show coming in the near future?

WDFW, no on the radio show, don't have time or the ego, but I'll post some reports to try and make this place more interesting. Last couple years I didn't fish a lot but that is changing and I'm due for some fish.

Reef, you know more than most men about menstration and menstral accessories.

At least a blog then? The Moist Wader Chronicles?

That Bulkley is sweet. I've been close to pulling the trigger on that one a few times.

The yarn ball was one of ColeyG's patented EZ threaders BTW. They have been good to me and I highly recommend them. His are of a much higher quality than I have seen, or I can tie.

The Bulkley jacket was nice in that I needed a lot less layers. I ended up having less bulk and more freedom for motion by just wearing a single layer under it. Also, the hood is a lot bigger than my older Simms jacket which was my main complaint besides barely covering half my back.

You should have hired a guide to put you on all the blingy river chrome. Might have even got your mug posted on facebook.
