I just got a great present. A friend who is unable to fish hard anymore gave me, among other things, about 25 or so k-14, k-15, and k-16 Kwikfish and similar sized Flatfish. A few are the old faithful silver or silver with chartruese head, but some are some pretty funky colors like glow-in-the-dark and white/blue scale. So what do you all think? Should I use the other colors or should I try to paint them? And if so, what kind of paint? Thanks!

Hey SF, I've got a great productive pattern to paint on chrome Kwikfish/Flatfish, or even the chrome with chartruse head or blue scale. I call it my injured baitfish pattern. The Sacramento River down your way was one of the first places where fishermen wrapped sardine or herring filets on the belly of Kwikfish/Flatfish to use for chinook salmon fishing. STS is Salmon Trout Steelheader magazine. It will hit magazines stands in the bigger stores around our area about mid Oct. I don't know if or when you get it down there. You can get it by accessing www.amatobooks.com . It is a very informative mag on all aspects of salmon and steelhead fishing. Interesting stories too. - RT
