These are not hard and fast numbers but I believe they are close and reflect total commercially harvested fish in the Chehalis Basin as of midnight last night.
First of all the total projected run size for coho in the system was approximately 82,000
The total commercial harvest (and these #'s won't change much) is: 12,500
The projected harvestable number of coho is 55,000
If these numbers are true folks there are 42,500 fish left on the table. I like this number...it leaves room for a run size projection to be off and yet is on the conservative side....lets hope its true.

Jim, I was under the impression that commercial (non-indian) harvest in freshwater in Washington was limited to the mainstem Columbia. I guess I was wrong. Do you know where I can get additional info on this subject? Thanks.

Hey Stink, The non-treaty guys don't go past the Aberdeen Bridge as far as I know and all of their netting was limited to the Johns River side this year to protect Humptulips Kings....Treaty is allowed many more miles up the river...so....you are probably right and don't need anymore info regarding this.

StinkFoot and others: If you want to know commerical "non-treaty" go to the following: http://www.wa.gov/wdfw/ then go to "Fishing/Shell Fishing", here it will give you seasons......dates, times, etc. Wish DWF would be the same for the tribes, so we'd know with out calling their office.
