Thinking of fishing Springer's near Barrier on down. I haven't fished the Cowlitz in years. Is a flow of 14600 to much to deal with ? I have a 14 ft. sled 40/30 pump. Appreciate any thoughts !

I've never fished it that high but seeing how guys have been fishing it the past few weeks I'd say it is still fishable. You shouldn't have too many issues if you know how to use your sled, it isn't too hard of a river to navigate. Check Google Earth for the right branch to take at the river split between Barrier and BC.

Thanks for the info. I have been running my sled for 27 years and only crashed ( ran stupid) once. Obviously I survived. I ran over a sand bar about 2 inches under water and the boat stopped and I didn't. Cuts, Concussion and a trip to the E.R.

Don't feel bad Local. If we run enough water, we all gonna run aground at some point.... just some of us sooner than others.

That "new jet", will get you around OK......If you catch fish (?), remember the guy that taught you EVERYTHING you know......I like the tail section...

Good luck!!!!!!

OH, that sand bar is still there, I'm thinking 2-3 hrs. BEFORE low water, fish until about 1 1/2 hours on in-coming tide.....we all should be good to go !!!

Oh, the new ETECH 40 HP jet, would have made the Woolridge a real runner......

I fished both below dam as well as below I-5 last Saturday @ 14300 the toughest part is finding any soft water to spin a bait through. Many people including some guilds are on anchor at soft seams. They did just drop it a foot that'll help.

Thanks for the tips. We fished the seams when there was room and picked up one. We did better than some.
