In New York a first grade teacher explains to her class that she is a
Yankees fan. She asks her students to raise their hands if they are
Yankee fans too. Not really knowing what a Yankees fan is, but wanting
to be just like their teacher, their hands explode into the air like
fleshy fireworks.
There is, however, one exception. A girl named Lucy does not go along
with the crowd. The teacher asks her why she has decided to be
different.
"Because I'm not a Yankees fan."
"Then," asks the teacher, "what are you?"
"Why I'm proud to be a MARINERS fan," boasts the little girl.
The teacher is perturbed now, her face slightly red. She asks Lucy why
she
is a MARINERS fan.
"Well, my Dad and Mom are MARINER fans, and I'm a MARINER fan too."
The teacher is now angry. "That's no reason," she says loudly. "What
if your Mom was a moron, and your dad was a moron. What would you be
then?"

A pause, and a smile. "Then," says Lucy, "I'd be a Yankees fan."

Ah, another jealous loser A's/ Mariner fan. Can you say 37 pennants to zero for the Mariners. Or would you like to talk about current baseball. Lets say the last 4 years. How many world series have your chumps won? Better yet, any AL championships. Ah, like I said birds of the same feather flock together. THAT MEANS YOUR A LOSER !!!

Just look at it this way. RiverRunner is one of two things. He's either a New Yorker, in which case even 37 pennants can't make his life any less miserable. OR, he's a Yankees bandwagoner, in which case he's even sadder than if he lives in New York.

But in either case, he's your typical big-mouthed Yankee fan. Lips so busy flapping in the wind that I can feel the gusts through my monitor. Big mouth, little brain......yeah, he's a Yankee fan all right.

hey fella's. I was at the game on saturday that Clemens pitched and he throws smoke. I also saw 2 fights break out in the stands. It was kind of weird. My girl friend was scared. But what I gotta say is GO M's. if we win on tuesday we will win it because my friend Sele won't loose. He is awsome.

Anyway, since money was mentioned. Yes the Yanks do have the highest payroll. But when the reward to risk is minimal you do it. Now on the other hand ol' Billy boy or Paul know when to keep the greenbacks close to the vest. If I were them, I wouldn't throw a penny into a sinking ship.

By the way, who are you going to root for the Yanks or the Mets?

Yes RR the Yankees are on a roll over the last few years, but my boys with the funny white shoes have had their days in the sun also, championships in 72, 73, 74 and 89. World Series apperances in 88 and 90. We've have our share of championships also. During that same time frame the hated Yank's have 5 world series titles (77, 78, 96, 98 and 99) with WS apperances in 76 and 81. Not much difference between the two eh?? So go ahead and have an attitude, it's fun while you can. The A's will be around with good teams for a few years, what they did this year with a payroll that is 1/3 that of the Yank's was pretty impressive. The ole' Bronx Bombers have had huge payrolls that haven't performed in the past, it may be that they are at the end of their current run, lot's of them boys gettin old. For all of the M's fans out there let's hope that they can be smart and keep A-Rod around!!! Butth**e, you don't even know me??? I figured I'd get at least one Yankee fan to bite so there could be a little fun on the board, looks like you were it!!! By the by, I've been an A's fan for 33 years, how long you been on the Yank's bandwagon???

Well looks like Lou pulled a booboo in the seventh. Should have never put Roeds in against Justice. I guess when a guy is 3 for 4 against him he figures he'll never get that number 4. Oh well,, We'll get'em next year.
