I fished the Chehalis this morning from 7:30 until 2 and got nothing. I put in at the Cosi Boat launch and trolled up and down the river all day. I was wondering if anyone is having any success and if you are what are you using? Everybody i talked this morning hadn't got a thing. Is it a little early to be fishing this far up the river or are they just not biting.

Banki,

I was a few miles upstream of you, fishing below the Satsop. It was slow there as well. Some guys are getting a lot of jacks on eggs. There are fair numbers of larger silvers rolling, some bright, most dark, and a few real dark. And they didn't seem hungry, either. I think is was salmon fishing like this that made me a confirmed cutthroat and steelhead practitioner, at least they bite if they're around!

Good luck!

Sincerely,

Salmo g.

Ya I was fishing from the bank last week, in the chehalis, up by the power plant and there was a lot jumping and rolling but not very much pole action anywhere, I got a jack on eggs and that was about it. I didn't see anyone else pull one in at all. It's frustrating when you see em all over the place but they don't hit anything you throw out.
