I can't remember who posted earlier about returning the reel to Shimano and they usually send you a new one but it is true.
I had to talk to couple of the customer service rep befor I got the right help I needed. (He's name is Chris Nietzel) I had a problem with a line guide in my reel, the metal piece had come out and i did not feel like taking it apart so I called and talked to Shimano and they said send it back for repairs, but when I called and asked how long after I had sent my reel in they said they sent out a new one Friday.(cool) Also Any one who uses the Calcutta 400 series reel can get an updated Dartanium drag for free either at a authorized Shimano dealer or send it to shimano at 1 Holland drive Irvine California. Your welcome aerofly! I haven't done that yet but you bet your *ss from now on I will. Your lucky, I had to pay John's out of Everett to fix mine for $60.00. Hmmmmm let's see, $60 or new reel no charge!!!!

i have a calcutta 250 and a 400, the 250 was giving me problems with the drag coming loose, i sent it back and got a new one a week later. also i just got the new drag for my 400 a few days ago, its awesome.
