Best high water technique?

I have to take the opportunities to fish when I can. I may or may not have good timing after this surge of water, but being outside trying to fish is better than not doing it.
That said, what do you like for high water salmon techniques? Go up higher in the system than usual, look for some soft water on the edge of the main current, #5 and #6 spinners with darker bodies? Crankbaits in dark colors with a wider wobble and thump than you might typically use?

Close to shore (or side channel like mentioned above), something smelly will work pretty well, although they are coho and therefore all bets are off!

For coho specifically I'll find side channels or sloughs with little to no current flow. Had some of my best coho days when the river was ripping and the coho jumped into a side channel to wait it out.
Spinners, jigs, eggs, dr death plug. Good luck!
Side channels and big hootchie spinners...bam! Fish on... Todd

Pulling big bait wrapped plugs or super baits are dynamite when the river is brown. Sometimes all the fish want to do is go upriver and arnt holding in the typical coho froggy stuff. This is when the plugs really shine!

Hootchie spinners seem to work all the time BUT before hootchies some people used sand shrimp or prawns.....
2 rods out of a boat....I like wrapped Mag lips or spoons....been known to work in ANY KIND of water, just have to find where the fish track...
Next week should be good on ANY water...
Stay safe!!!!!!!!
