I know you've been waiting all year for this. Here's the one and only Official 2017 Snoopy Rod Classic email thread. This is THE place where I'd expect to see the teams listed, some serious Sky-Valley SUCKS banter back and forth smack-talk, vendors stepping up to donate prizes, and everything else related to the SRC.

The SRC is *always* the first Friday in December. For those guiding in the area, that would be Friday, 12/1/17. Might be a wise decision to fish elsewhere that day, or at least bring a hard hat for your clients, as i hear it sometimes rains potatoes. smile

CanyonMan is in charge of team formations so if you were part of the SRC last year, or any other previous year, and would like form up a boat team, send CM a PM. He will list the teams in a reply down below.

If you have never participated in the SRC and would like to be invited, please PM CM. It helps if you provide him some recommendations, prizes, and even bribes seem to work.

Looking forward to another Snoopy Rod Classic and this is the year that Team Two Guides and Boat Ho are bringing the trophy and jacket BACK to Forks!

And just in case it wasn't clear before: TEAM SKY-VALLEY SUCKS!!!!!!

Ok boyz(and girlz like Ashley Nichole Lewis and Team Sky Valley Sucks!)...

IT IS TIME!!! SRC 2017 and the Bogey House will once again host the Thursday night gala.

Please email, call, or PM me if you are looking for a bed at the Bogey house for Thursday and Friday evenings. Looks like most beds are spoken for, but there could be some floor space for those with sleeping bags and air matresses(or anyone willing to snuggle with SUCK IT!!!).

Please post your team name and members on this thread and I will update the list as new ones are posted. So far we have:

1. 2 Guides and a Ho (Bob, Carl, Paker)
2. Defending Champions!Team SUCK IT(Canyon Man, Suck It, Fish4brains)
3. Team 2 Round Guys and a Brown Guy (Achewter, Luis, A-Aron)
4. Team Sky Valley Sucks(Craig O, MrynsTgl, Tom S)
5. Team Sky Valley Sucks Harder(Beezer, 4 Salt, ?)
6. Team 2 Wolves and a Donkey(DogFish, Fish Ranger, Dave L)
7. Team Orygun 50 (JDarr, BGlass, ?)
8. Team Getemdry??? (Jared C., Nate, ?)

Lastly, anyone with anything to donate to the cause please PM me right away so we can begin gathering everything before time runs short. We will once again be raising funds for the Gordon Gracey medical fund to help Gordy and his family in our small way. Typically we are able to raise around $2000 or more a year to make things just a little easier for the Gracey family. Remember the time of year and any little help is greatly appreciated.

Prepare well as Team SUCK IT will not give up both the trophy and jacket without a fight!

As always there is only one thing to remember...TEAM SKY VALLEY SUCKS!!!

CM

It is. It is their "entry level" rod. Their "gateway". Think MaryJane as the gateway to all those hard drugs...

I mean, look at the guys in the SRC. They "normal"???? They're addiced, badly. All because of the cute little Snoopy Rod. Smart marketing.

You can't tell me that salmon and steelhead fishing is healthy in washington when the snoopy tournament gets 8 posts in 8 days...

Maybe someone should invent a snoopy gill net tourney...

You should come out Piper. Grab a couple of buddies and form a team. Banter about it here on the board has slipped a lot over the years but we usually still get a pretty good turnout and it's a lot of fun for a good cause. thumbs

Are you gonna be there wipin' Nate's puke up again JD? sick moon beer

OK, I have to ask. I know this may make me sound like a douche......but.....

How can you advise guides to fish another river?

Do you realize your liability if you hurt someone? I mean, how do you explain to a judge that a bunch of hung over or still actively drunk idiots were launching projectiles at each other and smacked some innocent person in the face?

You could put an eye out with that thing!! LOL

I have watched this with interest over the years and have wondered what the locals thought of you guys. I know you stay the night and probably buy your liquor in town but raising hell like you were from Alabama can't go over too well. My apologies to those members from Alabama.

Telling people to wear helmets because it is raining potatoes doesn't sound like a good defense. The vast majority of anglers on the Bogy that day will not have read this thread. I realize our waterways are multi use areas but sometimes the conflict is too great. Like hunting and golf courses. Bad analogy.

Anyway......

I probably won't be there but will follow this on the local police blotter.

I'm really just curious.

I doubt that what happens in the SRC is considered all that "abnormal" in Forks. They're havin' fun, nobody gets (physically) hurt.

In some ways, it's kinda like Rugby. You spend a couple hours, without benefit of pads, beating the living [Bleeeeep!] out of each other. Whistle blows and you head to the bar for beers till whenever.

Sometimes it seems we have lost the ability to have fun in the name of "safety".

And I would suspect that the locals think that it is, all in all, a fine idea as it is about helping out a friend in need.

Team 188 gallons per minute cant make it this year, which is a liability cause someone could catch on fire again....and I'll leave Kalamageo with an example of how to avoid getting your eye poked out...

Hey Carcassman,

Wide ranging statements like "we've lost the ability to have fun in the name of safety" is too broad. I asked a specific question and am not in any way infringing on anyones right to have fun.

I have known about this event for years. I have almost always chosen to avoid it. I once tried to join
but no one wanted me .....LOL
The question just came to mind as I was reading the OP.

Don't get your panties in a bind. It is just how my mind works. I see something and wonder how it might hurt me our those under my care. It has kept me and my passengers alive for the last 30 years or so........

Jealous? Hardly.

I was seriously asking a question. Liability is a real thing. Like it or not. I didn't just think it up. I just asked the question.

What you guys do to each other is your business. " that could be lethal" are not words you will want to hear in court. LOL

I was thinking about the masses on the bank and unsuspecting general public. I honestly had forgotten about it being for Gordon Gracey so for that I apologize. That probably makes it easier for the locals to guide elsewhere for the day.

For Gods sake just don't poke out someones eye!! LOL

Yeah, I have a plastic boat so it wouldn't be too hard to sink me!!

If I was out there, I'd be on the bank anyway. I've caught most of my Bogy brats above the Calawah.

99% of the target audience doesn't read this site (or probably can read).

Bankies are not safe either. Just ask Sol when he let lose the M-80 in Tall Timbers. rofl

Stuff happens. Some civilians and guides get pissed. We catch fish. No one cares on the 2nd, other than we've raised a little money for a good local cause.
