94% no and mostly no. WDFW are you listening!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There is a very easy method to insure they do: jim.unsworth@dfw.wa.gov commission@dfw.wa.gov publicaffairs@dfw.wa.gov Perhaps if everyone who voted would drop them a line? I have emailed the Director several times and have never even received so much as an automatic response acknowledging that he got the emails. Don’t give up! Make sure you send your concerns to the Commission. I know for a fact they get and read your emails. Also, let them know you wrote the Director and have never received any acknowledgement. The Commission supervises the Director, so they need to know what kind of a job he’s doing! JUST DON’T GIVE UP OR THEY WIN!!

I always put myself on as "CC" and if I do not receive a timely response I simply forward it to the appropriate party up the chain thereby documenting to whom and when the initial email was sent and request a response from that higher authority. Makes it easy for that person to forward it to the original recipient and suggest that they provide a response.

They don't care if you trust them or what you think as long as they get their paid vacation and retirement.

"They" who? WDFW has nothing to do with declaring a fish safe to eat. The Departments of Health (state and county) have that responsibility. I know when I tried to get them to do something about fish accumulating the algae toxins I was told it wasn't their job.

Ron should direct you to the proper person in the proper agency who has the authority to answer. Silence is not the appropriate response.

Want to thank everyones who's taken the time to vote. The results so far are a pretty good indication that "perception" is our department is doing a pretty poor job in representing the sport fishermen. We fully understand that they can only do so much, as they have to answer to the Gov. and it appears he is not so much interested in the sports citizen. Without some intervention however, we might be donating our gear to the Sport Fishing Museum.

Or, we simply spend our time and money fishing in those locations and for those fish that provide us with a meaningful day on the water. We each define that.
There are lots of places I still want to fish, lots of different fish to catch. They are just not here in WA.

I guess we can thank you WDFW employees for that... for the record, I just spent 4k on an electric motor and integrated depth finder to fish for walleye and bass... I ordered it from florida and didn't pay a dime in sales tax... FVck the WDFW... I'll be using it in Florida in 4 years

That's what they want you to believe. Properly used, the "old tech" works just fine. You just need tp heavily engage the computer betwixt the ears.

NO! I do not trust WDFW! Not as a manager.....
To evaluate a manager you just need to look at the results!
ESA listed fish sold for profit as runs decline.....
The only user group using selective fishing methods, incidentally the same user group who pumps the most money back into the local economy providing millions in revenue, jobs and license fees does not get a fair share of allocation.
I would at least like the WDFW to make statements like the sportsman of the state of Washington have been the only group to use selective fishing techniques that save ESA listed fish, instead we are bunched in with the other groups with no distinction. This is done with purpose so the pay to play groups don't get offended.
Corruption? maybe in another state but in Washington this is how business is done!

We need to ask WDFW what the most important result of management is. My guess is the #1 priority is not being taken to court by the Tribes. #2 is not being taken to court by the tribes.
The state is very afraid of Boldt II, as has been shown in the Culvert Case. They are right that there are huge implications across the country if the Tribes have veto over any sort of habitat impairment. I do hope That WA takes it to the US Supremes and that the other states file Amicus briefs. We need to have that sorted before we can move ahead.

In four years your new tech will be obsolete! The only reason I bought the tech was to get me and my kids excited about fishing again... we are stoked now to spend a couple weeks at the dworshak next summer...

If that is the case, the WDFW need to go away and the AG needs to step in and start to negotiate gambling money versus treaty fishing money... follow the money and don't be afraid to use the money as a bargaining chip?

Reach higher boys. Neither WDFW nor the AG can do anything without the Governors blessing! The tribes are federal wards, which means they have federal protection. Without the Governors approval, the legislature won't get involved, and without the state legislators, the Federal Reps turn a blind eye... A mass effort through the conventional and social media, concentrating on the Governor, exposing what is REALLY going on in our fisheries is what is needed. The question is; WHO WILL STEP UP AND COORDINATE THAT EFFORT?

The Wolf is 100% dead accurate on this. Casino money has flooded into PACs throughout the Olympia campus, and is simply shrugged off by the recipients as "It's OK...everybody's doing it." We Rec fishermen simply don't get to play on a level field, and that predicament rests solely on our State elected officials' shoulders. This accepted practice will continue as long as we, the stakeholders, turn a blind eye, or just remain indifferent to the problem. It's OUR resource, as well as the Tribes. They refuse to put the most important objective, that being a sustained yield harvest resource, at the top of the list. MONEY=INFLUENCE=POWER=CONTROL...and Co-Management is a total sham...
