The Wynoochee Quandry is EXACTLY the kind of issue that needs to be pushed to the forefront of WDFW's Negligence List. While this agreement falls further and further behind in the Rec's rear view mirror, the WDFW-Tacoma Public Power-Skokomish Tribal Project to restore Spring chinook and sockeye runs to Hood Canal has moved rapidly forward, and could see returns in just a few years. I won't take the time to point out how the new ten year PSMP impacts that project--as that is a different topic. Instead, add the long-running Point No Point ramp debacle to the mix, and the public has more than enough reason to beseech the Director and Commission toward immediate action to make these long standing "wrongs" their focus of attention. Mismanagement can take many forms--but ignoring, then sweeping these two examples under the carpet is simply inexcusable. Accountability here is nonexistent. Seek out and interact with your State Legislators, dump these issues directly into their collective laps...and keep their feet close to the fire. Twin Harbors and WA Citizen Sportsmen could use your support...and will stand by you in your efforts.

If memory serves, WDG used the money they got for facility upgrades rather than production. They agreed (probably in writing, somewhere) that they would fund the production (steelhead). Then, when funds tightened or priorities changed they tried to back out. I think Rivrguy might have more details.....

Don't want to high jack thread with talk of Wynoochee Mitigation but this shows how WDFW has been able to do a "rope a dope" to the public and also hide any talks between WDFW/Tribe .......

Rivrguy did write the following:
