I can not believe all the silvers in the elliot bay area still. The Indiands had their net fest for the past month and still there seems to be large numbers of the coho along the shores. Just last week I though it was over not too many fish left and the ones that are swiming along the shores were dark. Today I wanted to rest but got bored and wasn't sure if I wanted to drive up to the rivers so I figure I will give it a shot in the elliot bay One more time. I did not exspect to catch anything I was just casting to get rid of the hibbi jibbies of not fishing for the past 4 days. To my suprise I saw fish jumping all over the place and they were bright. Not like the fish of last week or so dark and slimy. I hooked into a nice bright silver hen in about 1/2 hour and lost a couple. Is there silvers still coming down? I know a lot of these silvers will not go up river and die along the shore , you can even see the egg deposits in the gravel and rocks along the shore, whats up with this. This pattern has been going on for the past 4 years now. Why won't these fish go to the river? No complaints here but just wondering. If this keeps up I will be able to fish for the silvers in to mid november (wishful thinking) My estimate on the new arrival of silvers into the shores of elliot bay are approx. any where from 500 to 5000 thousand fish, depending on the time of the day you look for the fish along the shore. They are swiming in less then 5 feet of water and deep as 30 feet from where I have been hitting them.
