I was watching an ESPN sports show when the Patterson Report came on. He said that the Roosevelt Conservation Group conducted a study and found that 60% of sportspersons(fishers & hunters) do not belong to any type of sports club. They also said that as a rule we sportspersons are not a "grouping" type of people. Mr. Patterson said this is the reason we are rarely listend to by the powers that be. He also said we can change that by using technology ie the internet. He said that there is no reason for f&w managers to be making the wrong decisions regarding our resources but we must take an active part. This point was proven emphatically with the proposed closing of Reiter Ponds. A relatively small portion of the folks that utilize that resource(less that 200) contacted their area legislators and the WDFW. We made a difference! Just some food for thought as 2001 rapidly approaches.
Off to chase some puppies on the Sky. Tight lines to one and all!

The fishing trip was a bust. We started in Sultan. Went donwstream via the Ben Howard road to Monroe(every where except Al Borlin Park). Only saw a few fish rolling and never touched a thing. Oh well. Thats why they call it fishin and not catching. River is very skinny. We need enough rain to bring it up a foot or so and pull some fresh fish in I think. Always next week.
