However, I heard the City Council is working to tweak the sun tax algorithm like how was done on our car tabs. 10X over market values x your first born + one arm and one leg. So the $3.50 estimated sun tax will shortly be $350. Which is precisely how they planned it.

It all boils down to this - I'm right, everyone else is wrong, and anyone who disputes this is clearly a dumbfuck.

You don't see panhandlers in Covington because they are squatting in some vacant house and stealing the wire and appliances instead of panhandling.

The homeless issue is a product of the destruction of the middle class and a lack of access to mental health services. It's our bed - now we have to sleep in it.

They aren't abundant in Covington or the likes because people are yuppies and don't and won't wait there to give you money... There also isn't an abundant supply of drugs...

Meanwhile in Seattle, there is abundant drugs everywhere, and you have to stop every 46 feet because of traffic and lights so they just post up with their signs and get paid...

Why leave a city when you can make 40k a year and get your dope 3 streets from where you get the money.. instead of walking miles...

The lack of mental health services is a farce, there's plenty, people just won't go through with it, or sell the drugs for other drugs, ect...

Just like junkies will take their Suboxone prescription and trade it to their dealers for heroin, because dealers need to live to make money, can't just keep shooting dope...

"Grant County
Lots of space and cheap power, though the meth and heroine supplies may be lacking."

Hey Hey Hey Muthafuhuchas, I've been "working" for several days, long hours, 6am to midnight. Finally decided to catch up, reading about Seattle's bum problem and thinking to myself "self, glad we don't have all them Muthafuhuchas over here in beautiful Chelan/Douglas counties, when out of the blue! WTF! Seattle Muthafuhuchas want to export another crop of [Bleeeeep!] to Eastern Wa? See those LOOP semi trucks on I90? Full of [Bleeeeep!] from King County Solid Waste headed to Eastern Wa to be dumped on wheat fields (somebody is getting rich on that deal...I know the guy too..diff story) keep your own bums cause "if you plant it, they will come".

Well, Grant County is right next door to our utopia! If you send the Bum Greyhound Express over, 2 days of 95 degrees or (5 degrees) and them Muthafuhuchas are going to infiltrate to our nice adjacent counties! NIMBY! Columbia River with nice parks, Cheap hydro Power, (oh wait, but carbon tax Inslee wanted his share too???) but our hospitals, shelters, and jails will overfill. Total [Bleeeeep!] show! Don't worry tho, still plenty of Meth, Heroin etc unfortunately

Keep em in Freattle! Good thread..

That kind of compassion must be easier when somebody else is paying for it.

Gov't workers must love it, wonder how much of the headtax money will make it to the bums under the bridges... past the bums in the offices.

The spoiled and lazy generation has morphed into something even worse.

Don't confuse compassion for accountability. I'm all for helping the less fortunate and do some of that myself in my own way. I'm not for blank checks without accountability. Show us how our money is being spent and how the plan is working before asking for more. The problem is it's not working, hasn't worked in the past and won't work in the future and is only getting worse by the day. So here we are...

I saw an interview a while back with a formerlly homeless man who made the point that he would do ANYTHING to never be homeless again. Suck dik, murder, steal, anything to not end up back on the streets where he was pretty much born. His point was that homeless people are vastly made up of crazies, and addicts and the normal people they spawn can and do climb out of it. Interestingly, he said you rarely hear about people like him because fornerly homeless dont want to talk about it, its not good for their normal lives/careers. Normal people lie cheat and steal to have a home if they have to, there is a clear difference there between people like that and the crazy and/or addicted ruined homeless class.

I have to Uber to visit my parents to avoid parking my truck amidst a mass of addicted bums. You have to be careful walking the dog around all the shattered glass. Well done Seattle.

My thoughts on the head tax? See below....

Probably can't bring back the internment camps either, huh?

Wow. I am truly a bad person. I should run for a Seattle City Council seat.

Folks around these puget parts seem fine with it all. They’re feeling good about how thier current crop of polyticians are taken care of the zombie mobs with amazon bucks. In a month or two, maybe throw more money at the midtermers to keep it at arms length for awhile longer.

All is gud until they invade the golf courses and country clubs, then they’ll draw some lines in the sand, electrify some fencing, maybe talk tuffer with micro soft or the farmers market tenets to cough up more amazon bucks ?

No matter, it’s too late, the invite to squat your life’s butt. here and other fine old citys has already gone out with a hollow promise of protection and an easier way to deal with life, alcohol, drugs, evil, health, and the city’s hand to help all with decision making, good, or real bad.

Next we’ll be needing some very serious pandemic precautionary measure mandates to pay for.....

The viaduct is coming down and their hands are out again.
They need to make the waterfront look more beautiful and a better place to pitch a tent.

This is silly. Are they going to cut them a check if a building goes up and blocks part of their view, lowering property values?

The fact of the matter is that if the property values go up, then the tax assessment will go up, and that's how people will pay for their increased value.

Fish on...

Haha - awesome. If you look at the proposed LID tax area map in that link, SBUX HQ is magically drawn out of the maps affected area. They literally drew the boundary around the building on Utah Street even though it sits virtually on the waterfront. First their drinks are exempted from the Soda tax and now this.

Absolute bullchit. Same as it ever was....

Well I’m certainly not advocating we follow Hitlers example but we do need to acknowledge that when the governed don’t think bad things will follow as we are starting to see.

And yes you should run for City Council. Preferably Sewants seat as that my folks rep. I could get you several hundred votes from their building alone. You’d probably raise a bunch of cash too. Lots of Huskies in that building wink.

A co-worker of mine ran last year. She’d have gotten more votes if she didn’t agree with the incumbent on every issue LOL.

Facts and common sense have left the building.

Those in charge will extort what they want, how they want, when they want.
