Heard rumor, called Region 6, Ribbon cutting on the new access will take place Friday afternoon.

My Region 6 source said that it is a "rough road" and about a mile long.
Seems a little long for a access point but at least that part of the river should be good to go for those that have drift, pontoons, or other float things.

Good luck....be safe on the river....the flow has been up and down for the past few days....

Happy to hear. Enjoy the drag drift boats. That's a very long float in the summer time to white bridge

Really good news. Glad to have reasonable access to the middle river again. Should spread out the pressure from the Black Creek drift a bit, too.

Now, we just need a put-in upstream from 7400, and we'll be back where we started. Any idea how to go about lobbying for that?

I went to the "Grand Opening" of the NEW 7400 Line boat launch...here is MY take on the launch:

1. Will not be enough parking unless a turn around service is used AND they start moving the rigs EARLY in the morning.

2. Main road is gravel but well used so is in good shape....just very dusty this time of the year. From main road to the dam, when you take the left on the 7400 Line....you go 2.1 miles then take a left....it is then another 1.1 miles to the launch, rough road, could be a real bitch during the rainy season.

3. For those that have not been to the 7400 Line, it is about 23 miles from the turn off, starting as you turn to go up the valley, 7400 line will be on your left.....I would "assume", WDFW would have a public boat launch sign in the area of the turn off.

As to FleaFlicker02 comment about another boat launch between the 7400 Line and the Dam.....I don't think so, some really bad areas that even experienced rowers, would never do again.

At least its open...….I can tell you this, a pontoon boat will be 1st boat down from 7400 Line to White Bridge....after the official ribbon cutting, they were waiting....

Another comment.....Now I don't know if Green Diamond is going to lock the gate coming off the main road....it'd be the xhits to go up there planning on being "on the river early", and have to wait until someone unlocks the gate.

I'm sure it will be all worked out but?????????

There IS a high launch yes. But it is quite a drag down hill to get your boat in. I did it with a guide friend of mine elk hunting and it is a bear. However I don't know that it is open anymore now that Wyco started selling passes up there.

This new launch comes out right on the river, its down river from the bridge that boaters used, until Green Diamond lock the gate because inconsiderate "sportsmen" were parking their rigs in the road so Green Diamond trucks had a hard time coming and going.

There is a small parking area just to the right of this picture....not much!!!

Yes, but I am replaying to the comment about a launch above 7400. There is one but it may be gated now as well.

That launch is gated. You see people parking there and walking in to fish. Another guy uses a bike and gets his pontoons down to the river that way.

Agreed on all points (except that I still miss the Beaver Slide and want it back; don't think I'll get it, though).

The new road will be a problem when the rain comes if they don't fill the steeper spots with a lot more rock. Gravel bar at launch is pretty soft, too, but like you, I'm glad to know the access has been restored. Might take a little pressure off the lower river. A little...

Absolutely, and the run upstream and down is wide open!

In all seriousness, whether you can launch a sled there or not, someone will try.

2 of us went for a drive yesterday, 7/17/18.....on the new road to the boat launch, it looked like a "logging show" was about to get started.

Only reason I point this out, could be trucks coming and going. Be careful driving in and out of the 7400 line.

I didn't see the 7400 line bridge the other day.....today I looked up river, the bridge is only about 250-300 yards up river, good fishing hole right at the bridge....might be worth the walk!!!!

Oh......its 20 miles from starting up the valley, to the turn off, then 2.1 to the new road, take left and then another 1.1 miles to the gravel bar launch. There was NO WDFW sign indicating launch, anywhere from main road in....

I don't have a drift or pontoon boat so have no reason to go to the 7400 Line since the 7/17/18.

Has anyone used the launch???

Was a logging show going or getting ready to go?????

Any comment on the road in???

Thanks...….
