Long time reader, first time poster. Some of you guys are a real hoot!I've laughed until crying on some of the threads. But You all seem to love fishing and agree that releasing wild fish is essential to perserve the sport we love. Now that I've got you all lubed up. I've got my first week off for fishing this fall and was going to warm up on some doggies. Anyone fished geyser, Metz, bridges, Golf course, beer bottle, yet? I'll probably be fishing them all but wouldn't mind saving gas and time if there still low in the river.

Thanks,

Heard there are a bunch of them stacked in the lower river by the old duwamish drive in.

Did a little recon fishing from golf course down to beer bottle. Pretty low and not many fish. Caught one old sore nose silver.I'll give it another try tomorrow, down at the drive in (been years since i've fished there). If not I'll pray for some rain before this weekend, I got a trip with Bob on Sunday but without any precip. probably will not be very good? Anyways thanks for the help.

Just an update; Fished from the drive in hole up past the horseshoe (I-5) didn't see a thing. Haven't tried geyser but doubt it would be worth the trip from what I've seen on the lower river. I'm going to go do a rain dance.

Yes it does flow next to Boeing in kent, The chum fishing I've done on the green has usually been much higher on the river; Auburn or above, just like to warm up for steelheading. I have fished this river for years and have never seen what I would call a big showing of chum. Some years better than others just like everywhere else. I have checked the whole lower river up to Metz. this week and have not seen anything worth mentioning. I would have been in hog heaven to have seen a pod of steelhead. It needs a good shot of rain to move them up. Probably should have went after summerruns above palmer/headworks? :0

I do a little bit of everything when steelheading the green as well as most rivers for that matter. I use a fairly long rod 10' 6'' GL31263c so I can toss a float setup and drift depending on the type of water fishing; I think in deeper slow water and pocket holes jig fishing can' be beat, just started usung bobbers....I mean floats a couple of years ago and wish I would have began much sooner (doubled my fishing success)! As for colors and size I use 1/8 oz.heads and main color paterns pink/white & orange/purple. Now If I can muster up enough gutts to try a pink worm set-up I saw fishing the vedder!

Probably more info. than you were looking for but I love this stuff.

I use the same pink and white jigs under a float and do okay on the green. Try putting some scent on your jig head. I also drift corkies and eggs and do better.
