What is the next takeout below the highway, and how far is it? Any landmarks I need to be aware of so that I don't miss it on the float down?

I don't think there is one. Once you get below the highway, your going until you hit the Chehalis a couple miles down.

If you're in a db, you might be able to row back upsteam once you get to the Chehalis and take out at Fuller Bridge, but that might be challenging depending on flows.

Otherwise you're going to the next takeout down the Chehalis.

Would not be a good driftboat float:

1. No take out, unless as Bossman said", row back up the Chehalis to the Fuller Bridge launch.

2. Many jet boats are putting in at "Fuller Bridge" and running up river above where you'd be putting in.

3. If it was me....I'd put in "on the West Fork" and take out at the Highway launch.

but ??????? its your call to make!!!!!!!

That's the float I've been doing, but wanted to figure out was was below the highway. How far down the Chehalis is the next takeout?

wsu,

Not too much below the highway bridge for a DB. S. Monte should be next Chehalis take out; basically all the way down to nozzle of Nooch.

I'm with DWA. PM if you are looking for shorter upper drift.

From the Satsop mouth to the South Montasano launch is a good 4-5 river miles......and if its in-coming tide, that can be a looooooooong driftboat ride.........not a good plan!!!!!!

IF the rock quarry below the bridge is open to traffic and you can even get to the river right now in a truck you can take out there. I had seen it done a few times but this was a good 5-6 years ago. I haven't been there in a while so I don't know if you can even get to the river anymore or if they ever leave it unlocked for access anymore.

Not possible anymore. Freeway to mouth, row/walk up to Fuller Bridge would be the only option. I wouldn't do it as that would be quite the upstream haul.
