I don't think there is any doubt that the WDFW Commission is missing the mark in some ways. So, perhaps it's time to re-look at just what we should expect from our Commissioner's.

What do we really know about the actual selection and appointment process that gives us the people who are supposed to represent us, and supervise the department?

I posted this in another thread, but thought it worth repeating here:

So, let me ask you all these questions.

1. How many of you actually know how many people applied for the last Commission positions?

2. How many of you actually saw the names of everyone who applied, saw their backgrounds and qualifications?

3. Who amongst us attended an open meeting where the candidates were introduced and where we got to ask them questions?

4. How many of you even know how the selection process works?

Are we supposed to blindly accept the Governors choice for the "best" person to represent us?

I'd really like to hear from everyone about this.
