With a favorable weather report I decide to hit a local C & R lake for some chironomid fishing.
Hit the water around 10:00 with partly sunny skies and light breeze.
Set up in 16' of water and proceeded to set a personal record, going 0 for 10. grin

It was just one of those days. I successfully managed to lose every fish I hooked with a number of techniques...broken leaders not at the knot, fish jumping and hitting the side of the boat, two kamikaze dives into the anchor rope.
I did get to see what they were eating. They eat San Juan worms, red and silver chromies and a burgundy angora leech.
Very few bugs coming off with the cold air and water temps.
Biggest fish was around 18".

Oh ya, don't believe the weatherman when he states a 30% chance of rain before 10:00. About an hour after I started fishing it rain steadily for a good three hours and the temp felt like it dropped 10 degrees.
Piss bucket became a bail bucket.

Not wanting to break my winning streak, I called it a day at 3:30 as
another rain squall was about to moved through.

Nice report. It takes a real die hard to start trout fishing this early, but 10 hookups is a pretty solid day of trout fishing any time of the year. I usually wait until the temps hit the mid-upper 50s before I hit the lakes. Many years, that means a lot of sitting at home, waiting for the rivers to drop in January and February, but this year, I've had some nice steelhead action to keep me busy. Won't be much longer before I'm dusting off the ol' pontoon....

Next trip, you'll go 11 for 10. Book it.
