There will be a Flotilla on the Clackamas River, Saturday January 19th.

If you would like to participate, please post here. We will be getting together afterwards to eat and B.S.

If you have any questions about the river or anything else, post it and I will try to answer any questions.

Hope you can make it,
Troy smile

There will be a few SW Wassies there. And there just might be half of Team Vision along with Team Donut in my sled. At least I know the Clack. Seems I'm a NF cracker. wink

Spooled, Is it a large river more suited for sled's or do drift boats fair well there also. I would be interested in going, If there are any locals there that would like to go with, as my fish buddies up here don't wanna travel that far... let me know, Matt

Matt, the Clackamas is suited to both type of boats. Generally I think sleds have an advantage on any river suitable for both types of boats. They can go up or down at will. If a hole is taken they can come back later. They also can go upriver from the launch.

The Clacakmas can handle a lot of boats. It gets crowded and will probably be crowded for the Flotilla.

As much as people talk it up for Flotillas, they are really just a fun day that you may or may not catch fish. Will the Clackamas be the best river to catch a fish on the 19th? Maybe, maybe not. It will be fun though. There are no prizes for catching the biggest or most fish, just bragging rights.

Just for the record, a sled has never won a Flotilla, but there has only been 1 out of 3 Flotillas that were on sleddable rivers. That was the Lewis River, and Kalabama and Rvrtramp won in a drift boat.

I will be in my Willie driftboat for the Flotilla.
