Nets are still in and will be probably extended again shortly.

I've heard reports of nice numbers of springers West of the Kalama River mouth, but by then who knows? They're out there, ya just gotta be in the right place at the right time (I know, duh).

Various reports I've seen over on Ifish.net are that catches are spotty, but happening. Some guys are geting skunked, some are getting multiple fish. Some guy caught three on the Willamette today. That means that at least some are getting through the nets.

I'm heading down thursday through saturday. Will report, possibly truthfully, upon my return.

Yep, they let the damn nets in today mad Hope they knock it off the rest of the week as I've scheduled a couple trips back down there, but as the fish commish is pro-commercial there's probably little chance of that frown

Me and a couple buds pounded it from 0 dark 30 on and although I caught one right away (unclipped hatchery, of course, so I had to release it to be smothered in a "tangle" net rolleyes ) that was all we got, and out of 40 boats we saw maybe 4 others caught. What was disturbing was that we marked a number of fish laying in the deep slots that wouldn't bite and wouldn't move - probably just sitting there dying from 5 1/2 inch gillnet release. Really sucks, should be heating up by now frown

The fishing was GREAT! The catching could have used some improvement however........
