i havent fished with the herzog model but i bought the vedder model a couple months ago (same stats as the herzog rod but its 10'6" instead of 10'). its got the same feel as the rest of the certified pro series but is much easier casting due to the extra length, a big change from casting an 8'6"

the only complaint i would have about the extra length is that it wont fit behind the seats in the cab of my ranger, so it gets to ride in the back.

I wish I could answer that question for you.Right before my b-day I broke my favorite 10 6.My wife drives by sportco every day so I asked her to stop buy and ask Bill what rod I would want and get it.She being the know it all that she thinks she is talked bill out of his rod and came home with the 9 6 certified pro.

As soon as the divorce is final I am going down to get the 10 6 herzog special.Seriosly she says I am obsessed with fishing and that we have nothing in common any more.Lots more fishing time coming my way.How many times am I going to find my self sitting in a house with nothing but my fishing and camping gear before I learn.

I have the 10' Herzog rod and really like it. I can use it either as a float rod or drift rod. It is great for Silvers and Steelhead. I would recommend it highly.

The Herzog MLCT 10' works wonders. Long enough to cast straight eggs with no weight yet has enough sensitivity to feel the fish just holding the bait and not tuggin' it. Can be used as a float rod, but not enough back bone to get a decent hook set especially on loong drifts. Great for rivers in this area,but if your'e out on in the OP, get something with a faster action to give you more control when your'e playing with fish in the 20# and larger class on a consistient basis.
