I'd strongly advise you to begin packing OXYGEN in that whirly-gig you flit around in... :p

its a long story, but... last year we were plunking on the quinalt river when a huge steelhead picked up my bait and took off for the ocean. it ripped the pole out of the pole holder and it looked like a submarine going through the water. i started to run after my pole, and when i got to the edge of the river i slipped and fell face first into the drink, becoming fully submerged . just as all of this was happening, inky ran up and said he's safe!!!!!! and crossed his arms like a baseball umpire. just as i grabbed my pole i looked up to see a monster steelhead roll on the surface and spit the hook. since then, whenever i go plunking with inky he makes me wear a skateboard and usually a mask and snorkel as well. no use going fishing if you can't enjoy yourself.

Good story! So that's Inky? I've got a trip in February and March with his son Tandy booked. Is he as much of a character? Also, I agree with your post on "banning nets". God.....makes me wonder about some of the people on the forum with the posts they made. Could they be a bunch of red neck back woods boys?

inky is the one and only character on the quinalt. we sometimes spend more time playing jokes on everyone than we do fishing. we call tandy "radio shack" . he is a great guide . i've fished with him many times.i have not met any quinalt guides that aren't great people. feb. and march are going to be banner months .

tandy is a great guy. did you also know he is also a former pro baseball player. won the state championship for hoquiam(knuckle-curve), drafted by the baltimore orioles, washed up for a while, made a comeback with independent league grays harbor gulls. maybe a free guided trip for the info of the glory days. also a former all league college and semi-pro pitcher myself.
