Life was simpler then.

If you think life was simpler in the 80s, try living in the 60s. Sex, drugs, rock & roll, drag racing, beer, fishing & hunting, and oh, yeah, Vietnam.

1975 kid here. I rocked the 80's. I found my special purpose in the late 80's.

From breakin' with original Air Jordans to mullets & cowboy boots. From Public Enemy to Quiet Riot. A true renaissance kid. The ladies didn't stand a chance.

The late 70's and early 80's were good to me, life was easy, I was enjoying myself and I really liked the change in the music that seemingly came in with MTV. I was especially fond of the 'New Wave' genre, much of it was British but not all of it. Their was, Wall of Voodoo-Mexican Radio, Devo-Satisfaction, The Clash-Should I Stay or Should I Go?, The Nails-88 lines about 44 Women, Duran Duran, Talking Heads, Flock of Seagulls, etc. I found the change in the music to be refreshing at the time and I still listen to 'New Wave' on occasion and I enjoy it when I do. The mid 80's brought me challenges but fortunately, for me, my challenges have always come with opportunity.

One thing about the 80s; I caught steelhead left and right, as if it were normal and would never end. Oops!

Strange I've had Sirius tuned into New Wave the past few days in the car. Tuned into MTV freshman year in college 1981. Punk was in the late 70s and early 80s. Expanded from rock to R&B, disco, and new wave.

As I remember the 80s, that's when they substituted flashy music videos for good solid music. Oh, and some ner' do wells figured the gullible would accept rap as music. It wasn't then; still isn't.
