What do you consider the perfect tide and where. My favorite method for salmon has been flies off the beach. Starting to fish out of the boat with my kids these days. Anyway, I used to look for a pretty strong incoming tide and fish the points from PNP to Yeomalt. It seams like when fishing from a boat you want the tide ebbing or flooding but not big changes?

Much to be said for fishing where the fish are, instead of where they're not.

Alotta folks miss that one.

More of a question regarding what people look for an why as opposed to where are the fish. I find it interesting that while fishing from a boat you might look for the reverse, the small swings?

I always try fish the high probability spots at the right times.

I remain a fan of looking/finding fish,as opposed to ploys running another direction.

Mild (less than 6' of movement) morning high tide, last week of August at Desdemona Sands right below the Astoria Bridge. Lots of 'chovies in the esturay. Fish "downhill" with black label herring. Some of the best king fishing I've ever seen for URB's.
