I Was Just Curious(A Poll)

On fishing closed waters this year? I noticed alot of talk with this and am really interested in a rough percentage. So I made a poll to see the percentages of people who fish closed waters vs. the never wills.

are you asking if people poach?

Are you the guy I saw plunking at the mouth of the Sultan River on Sunday?

2 summers ago I mis-read the regs on the Entiat river and spent a morning fly-fishing for trout below the deadline. (Not far below, but below).

After c-n-r a few beautiful fish I though to myself. "This water is absolutely incredible, these fish are absolutely aggressive, and I am having waaaaay to much fun. . . I must be poaching."

Sure enough after a quick re-read of the regs, I figured out I wasn't high enough in the river, and drove up to the open area, where the fishing sucked and the fish were small.

Why would any one fish closed waters???????.It's so bad ya need your lawyer to see if something is open or if your legal these day's.I try and read the reg's the night before I hit a different system then the norm.Good luck,

Are you trying to see if we are above the law? I think we should all vote that we fish closed waters, and see if he does. And see if that parker guy does it too. Why would it matter? Are you influenced by other peoples poor decisions? Will it make it right if we do? Feel free to give us a poaching report.

I really hope that the six folks who said they have been fishing closed waters for years were just funning us.

Like RR--I unintentionally have fished closed waters. 1 time not till after the fact did I realize the mistake-but I did remove a hatchery brat from the system. The second an Ole Timer informed me and a buddy. I pulled anchor and went down river to open waters.

Moral--read the regs. It aint worth it. No Cheating.

First of all, I do not do this. I have not fished since the closures. I was just curious as i am hearing more and more of this talk in this forum. It was a simple question, I am not looking for any justification.

I am not asking for anyones advice on this topic. What this poll is for is plain and simple. Just a rough estimate of how many of the PP folks believe they are above the law. I am not naming any names, period.

I learned a while back that everyone on this board or any other board is just another guy. Whether you have fished for 2 months or 40 years. Whether you have zero posts or wrote and published books. Whether your the president of a conservation group or a guy who litters everywhere he goes. The point is, for me to justify any actions based on a poll is completely foolish.

As far as my ethics go? I do not fish closed waters, probably why half of gear hasn't even seen a river this year. I have the WDFW on speed dial, and have tipped at least three times in the last year. Do not begin to assume my ethics because of an information-gathering poll.

Plunking? Seriously? I fish spoons and spinners alone, and everything I fish I videotape. Video of me fishing closed waters isn't the greatest idea.

I only fish closed waters. I find the fishing to be far more productive than open rivers, plus you don't have to compete with other fishermen! Plus, it's easier to bonk nates on closed rivers because no one else is around.

At first glance I thought the thread title was "I was just Bi curious (a poll)" but then I realized it didn't say that.
