new Lindy River Rocker plugs - 06/09/11 04:19 PM

Introducing the New Lindy River Rocker The River Rocker runs and tracks true in river or tailrace currents! A great crankbait for trolling even at higher speeds. Lindy’s River Rocker has a curved profile and streamlined shape that produces a wide rocking wobble. Whether it is cast or trolled, this exaggerated action will draw strikes from a variety of species.
Designed and built for performance right out of the box, the extremely versatile River Rocker is often cast, flat-line trolled or used with downriggers, but it truly shines when utilized in fast-running waters.

The River Rocker comes in two sizes – The #3 series is a 3/16oz (2-3/8 inches) and the #5 series is a 5/16oz (3-1/8 inches)

Re: new Lindy River Rocker plugs - 06/09/11 04:35 PM

From a marketing standpoint you should probably include a contest or free giveaway in your one and only post to a forum whereby you are pimping your gear. You could also buy ad space. You'll come across as more authentic, not as a spammer. Plugs look good though. Send me some so I can test them plunking.

Late to the party, but let me get this straight. You came on here to promote some "new" plug and you want everyone to flock to your site and start buying?

4 posts and we're supposed to start sending you money? Are you a site supporter? Where's the love for all of us that have been here and been through everything here for so long?

Cut the BS and hand some of those plugs out along with some other swag and ask for a report.

I checked out the plugs on your site and they look good. I especially like the eyes. Not sure of the colors though...except the pink one. What happened to plugs that were one solid color? Some of the best plugs I ever had were solid metallic blue or red. Unfortunately you can't find them any more (at least not tadpollys).

I totally understand how someone would think that. Which is exactly why the River Rocker was designed to not only meet, but surpass the needs of the NW fisherman.

The River Rocker has a special designed hook hanger system that could stand up to most any abuse. Its pull point (split ring hanger) is directly connected via solid brass plating to the belly hanger (front hook) and maxed out our testing machine at over 100lbs! The back hook is also anchored via sonic welding to the same heavy duty brass plating, making the back hook every bit as sturdy as the front.

We also paid special attention to the paint needs in the NW adding a super strong UV dip coating to the River Rocker.

The body is beefed up and completely sonic welded as well. Making the River rocker, from split ring to back hook, one of the strongest and most durable lures in the NW.

Thanks for the question McMahon.

That is a lame assumption unless it was meant as a joke... The guy just donated product as an introduction and you haven't even seen one yet.

Someone else commented on the colors too; I see red, chartruse and pink. Some appear semi-translucent and they are treated for UV? I already bought some and if they work as well as they look, I will buy more for sure.

I think some struggle more than others in the manners and appreciation department. The operative word here should be "Thank You."

Have you tested pulling the plug with a wrapped sardine? Also, do the plugs require tuning?

Thanks

Posted by: kjackson

Re: new Lindy River Rocker plugs - 06/14/11 02:30 PM

Coho--I've tested a few of the plugs, and none of the ones I've had required tuning, but that is SOP for the Lindy Shadling as well--primarily a walleye bait. As a rule, you don't have to tune 'em. They run straight out of the package.

I don't know of anyone who has wrapped the Rocker--but that's just my experience. We'll have to wait and see what some of the guys do.
Posted by: ieatfish

Re: new Lindy River Rocker plugs - 06/14/11 02:35 PM

Like Mr.Jackson says

You really shouldnt need to tune the River Rocker. I dont think that anyone has tested them with a wrap, but Im planning on getting out on the river tomorrow. I will give it a shot and let you know how it goes.

[quote=McMahon]Still haven't gotten mine, but I'm pretty suspicious about its effectiveness. [/quote

You had to be chosen (at random) to win, sorry.

But keep an eye out for the next one coming soon, you can have another chance to see just how effective they are...for FREE!

As I left the house today I had a nice package waiting for me. Inside was the golden shiner! Looks like an all around great plug. The eyes are incredible looking. I'll put it to good use very soon. Thanks for the beanie too.

Thank you,

Drew

Thanks Matt, Lime disease will soon put a hurtin to'm. Maybe I missed it but are any local shops going to carry these?

I don't know about the shops, but local distributors are carrying them. I'm pretty sure All Sports does...Matt will chime in at some point and give the full word.

Long time lurker here, first time caller...

So where does one buy these new magical plugs?

Re: new Lindy River Rocker plugs - 06/25/11 05:04 PM

Fisherman's Marine should have them. It was my understanding they were going to stock. Don't know if they've gotten a shipment (or even if they ordered). I'm out of the loop but passing on what I remember from conversations during the testing I did for STS.

Fisherman's marine ordered them a few weeks back, and should have them in stock now. If you want a full selection of the plugs you can buy them online from our website

How bout Outdoor Emporium, Sportco, or Teds? Any of them gonna carry them? Oh and by the way I ran the Golden Shiner for a bit on Sunday. No fish "yet" on it but I was impressed at how straight and true she ran right out of the package and when the sun hit the gold on the sides it looked awesome! I was able to get great action from it even in water with little current. I ended up loosing a plug to a snag that day and am glad it wasn't the Lindy plug! I like it. Once it catches a fish it will get a name.

Re: new Lindy River Rocker plugs - 10/01/11 05:02 PM

I've been testing out the River Rockers 3/16th and the 5/16th, color Pink Shiner, for the last 4 weeks. They work every bit as well as my old tadpollys. I've caught pinks, silvers and a few kings on them so far. I haven't targeted steelies with them yet but I'm confident enough of them that I won't have any problem trying them for steelhead. I just started using the "coward" model on silvers in the lower Skagit and it's working great with a little pro cure anchovie gel on the belly so far. I would love a couple of different color profiles for the PNW though. A larger magnum size would be wonderful as well. If you're interested in making a few models for up here let me know.

Here's the pinks we kept last friday we caught on the 3/16th Pink Shiners down at red barn on the lower Skagit.

Re: new Lindy River Rocker plugs - 10/02/11 07:12 PM

i just weighed both the "ROCKER eek2" and the leathal "BW29 banana" plugs.

although i have not casted the Rocker it seems from the scales it may be abit light to cast with a baitcaster.

the Brad's wiggler i know is a easy caster with a baitcaster.

anyone cast the rocker from shore, say with 12# or 15#?

Three Rivers Marine has a good supply of them hanging on the pegs.

These are great looking plugs.

Re: new Lindy River Rocker plugs - 10/03/11 11:55 AM

@brewer- How are you rocking the hook on the BW29? Are you using a 3 bead chain off the belly?
Posted by: ieatfish

Re: new Lindy River Rocker plugs - 10/03/11 05:59 PM

I casted them from shore off a spinning reel quite a few times. I've tried it with 10# braid on a bait caster. It worked OK.. not outstanding. I think the lighter design gives it a little more lively action.

Less weight means more action... generally

i use a either a big swivel in between the split rings, or a 4 bead chain. finished with a rvr sickle siwash.

i have not tried a blue wiggler like eyefish dude was sharing. i may try that also.

the rvr sickle is a must!
